Introduction

MakaWallet ("we", "our", or "the App") is a self-custodial cryptocurrency wallet developed by MakaChain. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile application. By using MakaWallet, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Self-Custodial Nature

MakaWallet is a non-custodial wallet. This means:

• We do not store, access, or have any ability to recover your private keys, seed phrases, or passwords.
• Your private keys and seed phrases are generated on your device and stored locally using your device's secure storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore), protected by biometric authentication.
• You are solely responsible for safeguarding your recovery phrase and private keys. We cannot recover them if lost.

Information We Collect

Information Stored Locally on Your Device (Not Shared With Us)

• Encrypted seed phrases and private keys
• Wallet addresses and account names
• Transaction history cache
• App preferences and settings
• Imported token lists

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly back it up or export it yourself.

Information Collected by Our Services

When you use the App, the following minimal data is transmitted to our backend (makawallet-api.makachain.io):

• Public wallet addresses, to fetch your token balances, transaction history, and portfolio value
• Chain IDs and network selections, to provide chain-specific data
• Device push token (optional), to deliver transaction notifications if you enable them
• Referral codes, if you sign up via a referral link

We never collect private keys, seed phrases, passwords, or biometric data.

Third-Party Services

MakaWallet integrates with the following third-party services. Their privacy policies apply when you interact with them:

• Blockchain RPC Providers, for reading on-chain data and broadcasting transactions
• deBridge / DLN, for cross-chain and same-chain token swaps
• WalletConnect, for connecting to decentralized applications (dApps)
• CoinGecko, for token price data
• Expo Push Notifications, for delivering notifications
• In-App Browser (dApp Browser), when you browse dApps, those websites may collect data according to their own privacy policies

How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Display your wallet balances, tokens, and transaction history
• Execute transactions you initiate (sends, swaps, bridges)
• Enable WalletConnect sessions with dApps you choose to connect to
• Deliver optional push notifications for wallet activity
• Provide referral rewards

Camera and Biometric Permissions

Camera: Used solely for scanning QR codes (wallet addresses, WalletConnect URIs). QR code data is processed on-device and not transmitted to us.

Biometric Authentication (Face ID / Touch ID / Fingerprint): Used to unlock access to your private keys stored in secure storage. Biometric data is handled entirely by your device's operating system and never leaves your device.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. We do not share your data with third parties except:

• With blockchain networks when broadcasting transactions (public by nature)
• With the third-party services listed above, only as required to provide the requested functionality
• When required by law or legal process

Data Security

• Private keys and seed phrases are encrypted and stored in your device's secure enclave (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore).
• Biometric authentication is required to access sensitive operations.
• All communication with our backend uses HTTPS/TLS encryption.

However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. You are responsible for keeping your device secure and your recovery phrase confidential.

Your Rights and Choices

• Access your data: All wallet data is stored locally on your device and accessible at any time through the App.
• Delete your data: You can uninstall the App at any time, which removes all locally stored data. Since we don't maintain user accounts, there is no server-side data to delete associated with you personally (only public blockchain addresses queried historically).
• Disable notifications: You can disable push notifications in the App settings or device settings.
• Disconnect dApps: You can revoke WalletConnect sessions at any time from within the App.

Children's Privacy

MakaWallet is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us.

International Data Transfers

Our backend services may process data in various jurisdictions. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your information to these locations.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted in the App and on our website, with the "Last Updated" date revised. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Cryptocurrency transactions are irreversible. You are solely responsible for verifying transaction details before confirming. MakaWallet is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
